Klaipeda

It is the third largest city of Lithuania, at the confluence of the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic sea, an important ice-free sea port. Klaipeda’s old town is different from all the other largest cities’ being so compact, with so regular street net system that has remained from the times of German Order with the old architecture so typical to German cities with still standing remains of the defense fortifications of the XVII—XVIII centuries. The Old Town of Klaipeda is the ferry port, the Drama Theatre and Theatre square, the Exhibition Palace, the Castle Museum, the Clock Museum, the Evangelical-Lutheron prayer house, Blacksmith museums, the Market square, the museum of History of the Little Lithuania.

 

 

The Marine Museum (The Aquarium)
 

This is the only place in the Baltic States where every visitor can be involved into an adventure and get to know the Marine world. There you can get acquainted not only with the world of sea water creatures but also with land mammals and birds, can see a show of wonderful dolphins.

 

Trakai
 

It is a gothic style castle in the centre of Trakai, near the lake Galve. It was built in the second half of the XIV century — in the first decade of the XV century. Now the castle is renovated and is one of the most popular places of interest with tourists in Lithuania. Various celebrations take place there together with archeological and historical expositions and the museum of hunt is worthwhile visiting.
